Ex Army informant who lost his child and home

Alagaiya Kirukeshwaran, a youth from Kokadichole, who had been an army informant a long time ago was shot dead by the Tigers Organisation at dawn yesterday. The assassinated Kirukeshwaran left the country in fear of his life after the government entered into a cease-fire agreement with the Tigers Organisation. The tsunami disaster that struck Sri Lanka on 26 December deprived him of his only child and his wife’s parents. The house they lived in was completely destroyed. Shocked by this tragedy Kirukeshwaran came back to Sri Lanka a few weeks ago and he had planned to go back to a foreign country when he had made some arrangement for her wife to live in. The assassins took his life at the Batticaloa bus stand in his wait for a bus to Colombo to go back abroad. At nine p.m. day before yesterday (07th) Tiger cadres abducted him at the bus stand and his body was left behind in front of the Batticaloa Police station at dawn yesterday (08). Alagaiya Kirukeshwaran’s wife whose only child and both parents were taken by the tsunami is shocked by the loss of her husband who came to her rescue.
