Latest clash between LTTE factions kills two Wanni cadres

Karuna Amman has vowed to fight for his faction's safety at any time.

Mar 04, Colombo: At least two Wanni LTTE cadres were reportedly killed when they encountered a group from the Karuna faction in an uncleared area in Vavunathivu, Batticaloa, last night.

It is learnt that Karuna cadres attacked the Wanni cadres to secure the release of another Karuna cadre who was reportedly detained and tortured by Wanni cadres at a checkpoint at Vavunathivu. One Wanni cadre was able to flee from the scene with injuries after the heavy attack by the Karuna faction.

Currently, the Karuna faction is observing an unilateral ceasefire against the Wanni faction, but Karuna Amman has vowed that they will fight against the Wanni cadres for their safety at any time.
