Another spy killed in Lanka By P KARUNAKHARAN

In the ongoing killings spree in Sri Lanka, yet another Tamil military informant has been shot dead allegedly by the hit squad of the Tamil Tiger rebels in a predawn attack on his house in the outskirts of Colombo city on Saturday.

According to top-ranking military sources, four suspected pistol squad members of the LTTE have stormed the house of the victim, Thissaiweerasingham Danushkumar (31) alias Suresh at Pipiliyana, in Borrelasgamuwa located in the outskirts of Colombo about 4.30 in the morning and shot him dead at a point blank range.

"The perpetrators have forcibly entered the victim's house and shot him dead. They have also exploded a hand grenade before fleeing the scene. His wife, who was there at the time of the incident, has escaped unhurt," Military Spokesman, Col. Sumedha Perera said, adding that Suresh has been a useful army informant for "quite some period".

Although the other sources said that the victim was one time a member of the military's Deep Penetration Unit (DPU), it could not be confirmed.
