COLOMBO, FEB 27: Elite police commandos have killed at least three Tamil Tiger guerrillas in a fresh offensive in thick jungle in the eastern part of Sri Lanka, officials said on Sunday. Special Task Force commandos mounted the search-and-destroy mission in the jungles of Kanjikudichchiaru on Saturday and by Sunday had killed at least three rebels, officials said.
They said the commandos had destroyed at least one jungle base of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, who were responsible for a series of recent attacks in the eastern province.
