Ex Army soldier's bullet riddled body found in Valachchenai By Munza Mushtaq

The bullet riddled body of an ex-Army soldier was found on Monday morning at around 6.20 a.m. near a Mosque in Meeraodai, Valachchenai.

The victim was identified as Recruit S.M. Navaz (25 years) from Meeraodai, Valachchenai, who had gone missing since December 31, 2004.

He was found gunned down by an un identified gunman using a 9 mm pistol near the JUMMA mosque in Meeraodai, valaichenai, at pointblank range.

"The motive of this brutal assassination is yet to be ascertained," an Army spokesman said.

The incident has been notified to the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission and the Valachchenai police are conducting investigations.
